When you seek long-term changes in activity and behavior, research shows that motivational coaching, sustained personalized feedback and education is most successful.  Although there are many coaching services on the Internet, their impact is limited by the absence of a therapeutic relationship.

How is our coaching different from other on-line services?  We focus upon what you want to learn, not what service product the coach is selling.  We become the change agent in helping you achieve a learning goal you may thought impossible or may yet to imagine.  We help you target your learning goals and objectives, develop and implement an action plan, and develop strategies for sustained behavioral changes which you expect from the learning.

Our relationship with you is personal and confidential, but does not extend into your own personal boundaries.  You can be assured that shared personal information is maintained according to the ethical requirements  of a licensed mental health professional.  To maintain this confidentiality, all consultative services are done privately by phone, in sessions ranging from 15 minutes and upward.  Though there is no absolute guarantee that the phone is totally confidential (depending upon your phone set-up), it is far more private than Internet, even with firewall security systems.  Clients are billed monthly in advance for the total time chosen, and unused time is credited to the next month.  Clients incur the long distance charges.

During the consultation, our job is to listen, not to advise; to encourage, not to solve problems; to help you visualize what is possible, not impossible.  Our virtual assistant task is then to compile your needs into a customized internet search of on-line materials, websites, and other resources which will fulfill your learning goals.  In-between our sessions, focus questions will be emailed or faxed to you, with an agenda designed by both of us.  Homework is given between sessions.

Our rates vary from $150 an hour, depending upon the extent of your requests.  For general coaching on a personal goal, rates may be lower than for executive coaching.  Together, we develop the contract which fits your goals.  Our relationship may be discontinued at any time by either party if it is not working out.

Shelia Clark, Ph.D., is a practicing licensed psychologist. However, these services are not defined as "telehealth" as it is not a healthcare service.  The primary service of healthcare is to identify, diagnose and treat nervous and mental disorders.  In psychotherapy, the client discusses intimate feelings and relationships in an effort to understand causes and to identify treatment need.

In our e-Learning Services, Shelia Clark, Ph.D., employs a unique approach to inter-net learning, one in which she utilizes her knowledge of psychology in a different manner.  She absorbs your ideas and asks powerful questions which help you to focus upon your learning goals.  Our e-Learning services compile resources in a manner which reflects the way in which you learn.  Your profile of resources might show a book from Amazon, a YouTube video, a page from a blog, a website, graphics or other visual aids.  It may include a list of suggested on-line courses, or live webcast lectures and discussion forums.  It might include movie suggestions, documentaries, or television shows.  It might be a debate held on Twitter or other social network interchanges.  This type of e-Learning sometimes has been called a "Mashup."  This approach helps you to perceive information in new ways and is the basis of our approach to e-Learning.

This type of learning has been coined "learning agility" by Marshall Goldsmith, author of management books.  This ability will be required of successful leaders of the future--it is the ability to be flexible in how and what one learns.  It is the ability to navigate an information-rich culture, to be interested in and understand content from diverse living domains.  E-Learning is an effective approach to developing "learning agility" as information is presented in "chunks" which encourage learning, as is being defined in current brain research about the function of "working memory" in the role of learning.  Research is showing that we learn in small bits, that we absorb information more effectively that way, and that we retain the information better than when learning is presented in a long drawn-out lecture or workshop format.  In digital learning, one can learn what is needed right now, exit the e-Learning resource, and return later--an approach which is attuned to a busy lifestyle.

The categories of service define the parameters of what you might expect from our e-Learning services, with lower fees charged for Basic Services, increasing upwards for Platinum Services.
